Description of the towns and relation

Ringsted:

Location: It is one of the most ancient town of Denmark 70 kilometers far from Coppenhagen in the Sjælland region.

Relation: The mayors of the two towns visit each other to meet in every two years.

The most significant aim of the cooperation is to get to know the cultural, economic and social background of the twin towns. The two local councils are working on building up direct connections between the institutions, companies , associations and citizens of the towns.

Relation: Due to the closeness the two towns have extensive and flourishing connections.

At the regular meetings of the twin town citizens they find it relevant to get acquainted with each other’s culture and exchange experiences. Apart from the fairly close geographical position the relation is based on the mutual appreciation and the honest desire to know one another.

Kézdivásárhely

Relation: Gyöngyös was twinned with Kézdivásárhely in 1995. As the first point of the twin town agreement says- joining the integration processes of European nations - the most relevant function of the relation is to encourage building up friendship between the citizens of the two towns to become acquainted with cultural values as deeply as they can emphasizing the importance of establishing viable economic relations as well. The cooperation of the two towns has been determined by this intention since then.

Pieksämäki

Location: East of Finland

Relation: The flourishing and regular cooperation of different institutions and public organizations has the greatest importance in the town relations.

Sanok

Location: Sanok lies on the bank of River San in Poland in the Sub- Carpathian Vajdaság with the population of 40 thousand.
